Next Saturday, we welcome you to join us for "Against Forgetting: Grassroots Opposition to State Oppression in Latin America and Iran," an online panel discussing transnational entangled histories of violence, dictatorships and resistance in the Global South, with a focus on the Middle East and North Africa with Latin America.

Gelare Khoshgozaran will moderate a conversation with Narges Bajoghli, Gala Berger, and Emilia Yang on the role of artists in direct action and organizing, as well as memorializing histories of tyranny and violence.

Over one year ago, we commissioned a new project by Cristóbal Martinez. Hallucinations of Remembrance and Imminence is comprised of five works of immersive sound art and four performances. And now you can experience all of them on the project website!

The electro-acoustic and real-time generative computer algorithmic sound environments of Hallucinations of Remembrance and Imminence evoked sonic impressions of the artist’s childhood while growing up in the expanse and presence of his ancestral landscape – the high desert of North Central New Mexico. Experience these new works along with performances and conversations with Radio Healer, Deer Woman, and Red Culebra.
